Clip 6 - spread

This clip starts with a male (coming from the left) initiating a saddle-stripe sequence. The female rises-above and the male aligns himself in parallel over-under position. However, the pair is disturbed by an intruder (again coming from the left) and the male switches to a zebra display. This display becomes more intense by spreading the arms, showing zebra splotches on mantle and arms and clearly visible fin dots as a sign of maleness. In the Formal Zebra contest the two males align themselves in an over-under position, one tilts upwards, the other downwards, and they push the posterior parts of their mantles against each other. The courting male in the lower position wins the contest and chases off the intruding male.
